Dartmoor Zoo - Home of We Bought A Zoo

The Dartmoor Zoological Gardens has a lovely story. In 2006, the former wildlife park was set to close. When the Mee family heard that the animals may be killed, they purchased the decrepit park. They restored the zoo, saved the creatures, and renamed it, inspiring the story of the beloved 2008 book, and 2011 film, "We Bought A Zoo". The beautiful animal park is set on 33 acres of countryside and offers a fantastic family pursuit. The Dartmoor Zoo is just 25 minutes outside of Plymouth, making it a great day out close to Copthorne Hotel Plymouth.
