These wetlands, at the foot of Junzhang Hill, are beneficiaries of the government's restoration project. Spanning an area of 260 hectares, including 80 hectares of water, the wetland park comprises a canal dug during the Three Kingdom period (AD220-280) connecting Lihu Lake to the north and Taihu Lake to the south. A national ecological park, this features among the ten urban wetlands in China engaged in ecological preservation, recreation, popularization of science and cultural experience.
