Experience a stay in the life of the Beatles at the Hard Days Night Hotel

A Fab 48-Hours in The Beatles’ Liverpool

Experience a stay in the life of the Beatles at the Hard Days Night Hotel with our Liverpool weekend break guide. From growing up in the working-class neighbourhoods to crafting their style and sound in the city’s clubs you’ll get a sense of how Liverpool shaped the music and lyrics of the world’s most influential band.
Explore the Fab Four’s hometown with a weekend break taking in some of the most famous Beatles’ attractions as well as some of the lesser-known spots that inspired John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

A Ticket to Ride from Penny Lane to Strawberry Fields

Liverpool’s streets are filled with Beatles stories and sites, from their childhood homes and schools to the pubs and clubs they frequented. But, with only a weekend to explore some of the top Beatles attractions in Liverpool, we’d recommend starting with these three favourites.

Let me take you down 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Field, 16 Beaconsfield Road

Take a 25-minute drive from the Hard Days Night hotel to one of the most recognisable locations in song writing history, Strawberry Fields. The Beatles, and most importantly John Lennon’s, connection to this landmark goes back to a childhood playing in the grounds of what was once a children’s home neighbouring his own. Get a sense of the wonder that a young John experienced as he hopped over the wall and explored ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’. Until recently there wasn’t much to see beyond the famous red gates, but since 2019 Strawberry Field has opened to visitors. A media guide, exhibition, and grounds designed for relaxation makes this a must-visit for fans of the Beatles.

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes

Whether you’re there to order ‘a four of fish’ from the chip shop, join the banker waiting for a shave, or shelter from the rain and take in the sights and sounds, Penny Lane should be on your weekend itinerary. Less than 20 minutes from the hotel you’ll be able to visit the street that inspired this Lennon and McCartney classic. As a regular stop on the bus route between their respective homes, Penny Lane was very much in their ears and in their eyes when they penned those dreamy lyrics.

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church…

St Peter’s Church, Church Road, Woolton

Not only the resting place of Eleanor Rigby, but also the much-celebrated location for when John and Paul first met. Take a trip back to 06th July 1957 and a garden fete held in the church grounds was the start of the musical friendship between Lennon and McCartney. Take a reflective tour of the graveyard and grounds or amongst the pews and halls inside the church and you’ll feel transported by those immortal lyrics ‘ah, look at all the lonely people, where do they all come from.’

Come Together in The Beatles Quarter

With its city centre location, you won’t need to take ‘the long and winding road’ to visit some of the best Beatles attractions during your stay at the Hard Days Night Hotel. From inside the hotel to just moments away, don’t miss these top attractions.

The Beatles Story Museum

Britannia Vaults - Albert Dock

Take a 15-minute walk to Liverpool’s historic Royal Albert Dock and explore the world’s largest permanent Beatles exhibition. Even though you’re close to some of the famous venues recreated in the museum (The Cavern Club is just around the corner from the Hard Days Night Hotel), the exhibitions bring them to life as they would have been in the early 1960’s. If you can only visit one Beatles attraction during your Liverpool weekend break, this one should be top of the list.

The Cavern Club

10 Matthew Street

Literally only a minutes’ walk from the hotel, The Cavern Club has deservedly earned the slogan ‘the most famous club in the world’ because of its pivotal place in the story of the Beatles. The vaulted brick cellars are still filled with live music, but none can compare to the Beatles famous lunchtime sessions in 1961. The venue is credited with honing their sound and stagecraft, where Ringo replaced Pete Best as drummer, and where Brian Epstein first saw them and became their manager. From these underground beginnings, the Beatles would be the most famous band in the world in a few short years.

Hard Days Night Hotel

From it’s Beatle-obsessed founders to the logo above the door, from the artwork in its hallways to the unique collection of memorabilia throughout the hotel, the Hard Days Night Hotel is the world’s best Beatles inspired hotel. Located in the heart of the Beatles Quarter and combining the highest standards of hospitality with a stylish Fab Four theme, the hotel is a must-stay for Beatles fans or anyone looking to experience a Liverpool city break with a difference.
