Corporate Responsibility
The Millennium Hotels and Resorts team understands that our customers, investors, employees and suppliers actively choose their relationships with the Group. Increasingly, this choice depends on the degree to which we demonstrate corporate social responsibility: behaving ethically and legally, treating our employees with respect and consideration, finding ways to minimise our impact on the environment and doing what we can to improve the lives of those in the wider community around us.
Aside from its social contribution as a profitable, taxpaying enterprise, the Board recognises that delivering good, long-term returns to shareholders requires it to demonstrate commitment to corporate social responsibility. To this end, the Group has adopted – and reviews regularly – a number of policies, collectively referred to as Responsible Hospitality.
As part of Responsible Hospitality, the Group is committed to upholding human rights and helping to prevent slavery and human trafficking. In line with the enactment of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, please see our current slavery and human trafficking statement below.
The Board understands the need to communicate to stakeholders its progress on executing these policies. See the full statement of the Group's corporate responsibility programme.

Developing and retaining talented people is a key strategic objective for the Group and vital to our success. We aim to provide all of our employees with opportunities to develop their careers, by ensuring that we operate an inclusive, empowered culture, underpinned by respect at all times.
When it comes to gender and gender pay, we believe in equality and practise equal pay for equal work. We now publish our second gender pay gap report as at the snapshot date 5 April 2018.
The Gender Pay Gap Report has been prepared for CDL Hotels (U.K.) Limited, a subsidiary of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Limited that owns and operates two of our hotels in London as well as a the wider UK workforce in order to increase the company’s transparency in this area, and also to facilitate good governance.
