The 1925 Douslin House, which is named after its original owner Horace Belfour Douslin, shows us of how life used to be. The restored Dutch-style cottage has fine displays of the furnishing and the decor of the era. The property is at Rotorua’s Heritage Village, which also holds a collection of historical machinery, Māori culture exhibits and a working blacksmith. The model locomotive train offers rides every Thursday and Sunday.
